Account

Email and a password are stored by the project authentication service. Profile text, project text, a usage ledger, and export details (duration and canvas) are stored for the signed-in owner.

Footage

Video files stay on the phone. ReStorie does not keep a copy of your footage.

Writing help

When you ask for writing help on Idea or Hook, the draft is sent to OpenAI to write candidates, then to TypeSafe Jev to rank them.

Captions

When you ask for captions, a selected audio clip is sent to OpenAI to transcribe it. ReStorie does not store that clip.

First cut

When you ask for a first cut, the transcript of the used clips is sent to TypeSafe Jev to judge each sentence. For footage without a script, it is also sent to Anthropic (Claude) to choose the story. Neither keeps your video; only the words are sent.

Payments

Website subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered on Stripe Checkout, not on this site. iPhone subscriptions are processed by Apple and renew each month until you cancel. This Android build does not sell Plus. ReStorie stores the plan status, the period end, and the provider customer and subscription identifiers needed to keep the app in sync.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. Explore can be read without an account.

Deletion

Delete the account from Profile in the app, or from the account page on the website when that page is connected. That removes the login and the private rows tied to it. A website subscription is cancelled so billing stops. An Apple subscription must be cancelled in iOS Settings. Deleting the account does not cancel Apple. Footage already saved on a phone stays there until you delete it on that phone.
